Many protests have been sparked by yet another offensive cartoon: This is a must read!
Iran protests over Swedish Muhammad cartoon
Published: 27Th August 2007 18:17 CETOnline:
Iran summoned a Swedish diplomat to its foreign ministry on Monday to protest against a cartoon in a Swedish newspaper depicting the head of Prophet Muhammad on a dog's body, Sweden's foreign ministry said.
"Gunilla von Bahr, Sweden's charge d'affaires, was summoned to the Iranian foreign ministry today where she received a protest from the Iranian government," foreign ministry spokeswoman Anna Björkander told AFP.
The Iranian government told Von Bahr the cartoon was "offensive to Prophet Muhammad," Björkander said, refusing to disclose any further details of the meeting.
It seems the Muslims are not the only one's protesting however. One writer wrote this in protest:
I'm highly offended at Islam's Muhammad being depicted as a dog. I have dogs. None of them, are terrorists. None of them have abused women. None of them have ever hurt a human being, much less started Jihad. My dogs don't hate Jews or infidels. Quite the contrary, they love just about everybody they've ever met.
One dog by the name of Ajax wrote in:
OK! I admit it, I do leave landmines around for my peoples, and our family cat makes me want to declare Jihad sometimes, but this does not put me in the same category as Muhammad. I am not dogmatic in my hatred of cats, and leaving landmines where I do is not my first choice. Depicting a murderous human like Muhammad as a dog is truly an insult to the canine species, and gets my hackles raised. Now, depicting Muhammad as what I leave out in the yard might be another story.
